ABOUT STEM CAMP

The camp will be held August 4-7 from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.and is open to all high school students entering grades 9-12. This one-of-a-kind camp offers four days of activities exploring engineering and medical science at W.F. West High School in Chehalis, Washington.

The cost for this extraordinary experience is $25. There are scholarships available, if needed, when registering online.

ENGINEERING SECTION

UW College of Engineering

Guided by mentors from UW Engineering, learn to harness fundamental engineering principles like buoyancy, force distribution, and material strength to create a boat that can float, carry weight, and race across water. Then, put your skills to the test in a hands-on team competition for prizes!

MEDICINE SECTION

UW Medicine – Institute for Stem Cell Research

Through hands-on activities led by UW scientists, you will dive into the mysteries of DNA, experiment with technology used today in research labs, discover how stem cells can be turned into other cell types, explore the possibilities of gene-editing, learn how biologists and engineers work together to solve medical problems, and get an up-close look at human heart, brain, and lung tissue.
